- On your computer, go to voice.google.com.
- Open the tab for Messages, there are three options:
- Messages "mini looking grayish paper looking icon" intended to be a tab
- Calls "same looking similar image looking like a mini icon phone" intended to be a tab
- Voicemail "same thing click the mini icon looking like a mini VHS" intended to be the tab for voicemail.
- Open the text message, call, or voicemail.
- Click More using the horizontal three dots then select the right arrow intended use for more choices and then select Block number via click.
- Click Block to confirm.
- Open your iPhone's Phone app find the green phone image
- This app is green with a white phone receiver icon in it.
- You'll find it on the Home Screen or in the springboard at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Recents or Contacts.
- If you want to block a non-contact number that recently called you, you'll tap Recents, while you'll tap Contacts to block a contact in your phone.
- Tap grayish small square box with a exclamation mark in the box. Next to a number or tap on a contact's name. It's to the right of the number that you want to block. If you're blocking a contact instead, just tap their name.
- Scroll down and tap Block this Caller. It should be the last option on the page.
- Tap grayish rectangle button that says, "Block Contact" when prompted. You'll see this red text at the bottom of the screen. Doing so blocks the number, thereby preventing it from calling you in the future.
- Manage your blocked callers. Your iPhone stores a list of the numbers that you've blocked. To see it:
- Open the image for the iPhone settings (grayish bullseye looking image mimicking a gear ans square icon)
- Scroll down and tap Phone
- Tap Call Blocking & Identification
- Review any numbers under the "BLOCKED CONTACTS" heading.
Using the Samsung Galaxy Phone App
- Open your Android's Phone app by taping the image looking like a black 70's phone. This phone-shaped app should be on your Android's Home Screen.
- Tap the grayish kinda looking like a square for some phones or the three horizontal dots ⋮
- It's in the top-right corner of the Phone screen. Doing so prompts a drop-down menu.
- Select by tapping the third word "Settings". This option is at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
- Tap the heading with the verbiage "Block numbers". It's below the "CALL SETTINGS" heading near the middle of the screen.
- Enter a number you want to block. Tap the text field below the "Add phone number" heading, then type in the number you want to block.
- Alternatively, you can also tap Recent or Contacts below this "Add Phone number" heading. Tap a number in your recent or contacts list, and tap Done.
- Tap the grayish kinda looking like a square with the plus sign on it, +. This button is to the right of the phone number you just added. Doing so will add the number to your phone's block list. You should no longer receive calls from the blocked number.
- To take a phone number off the block list, tap the grayish kinda looking like a square with the minus sign on it, - to the right of any number on the list.
Using a Pixel or Nexus Android
- Open your Android's Phone app the icon that looks like a 70's phone in black. The Google Phone app is what most Pixel or Nexus phones use by default. You'll find this phone-shaped app on the main screen.
- Tap the grayish kinda looking like a square for some phones or the three horizontal dots ⋮ . It's in the top-right corner of the Phone screen. A drop-down menu will appear.
- Tap Settings. You'll find this in the drop-down menu.
- Tap Blocked Numbers. It's near the top of the page.
- Tap ADD A NUMBER. This is at the top of the page.
- Enter the number you want block. Tap the text field, then type in the number you want to block.
- Alternatively, you can go into Recent Calls or Call History and tap a number you want to block. Then tap Block.
- Tap BLOCK. It's below the text field. Doing so will add the number to your phone's block list. You should no longer receive calls from the blocked number.
- You can also check the "Report call as spam" box to report the call.
- If you want to unblock a number, enter the "Blocked Numbers" list in the Settings menu, tap X next to a number you want to unblock and then tap Unblock.
Blocking a Number on an LG Android
- Open your Android's Phone app the icon that looks like a 70's phone in black. It's a phone-shaped app on the main screen, though you can find it in the App Drawer as well.
- Tap the grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Call logs" and its use is a tab. You'll find this either at the top or at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the grayish kinda looking like a square for some phones or the three horizontal dots ⋮ . It's in the top-right corner of the screen. Tapping it prompts a drop-down menu.
- Tap the grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Call settings". You'll find this option in the drop-down menu.
- Tap the grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Reject call". It's beneath the "GENERAL" heading.
- Tap the grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Blocked numbers". This option is near the top of the page.
- Tap the grayish kinda looking like a square with the plus sign on it, +. A window with blocking options will appear.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "New number". Doing so opens a text field.
- You can also tap Contacts to select a number from your contacts, or Call logs to select a recent number. If you do this, the number will immediately be added to your block list.
- Enter a number. Tap the text field, then type in the number that you want to block.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Done". It's below the text field. Doing so will add the number to your phone's block list. You should no longer receive calls from the blocked number.
Using an HTC Android
- Open your Android's People app. Tap the person silhouette app icon. You'll usually find this on your Android's main screen or in the Apps menu.
- Tap the grayish kinda looking like a square with three horizontal dots on it ⋮ . It's in the top-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Manage contacts". This option is in the drop-down menu.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Blocked contacts". It's near the top of the page.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Add". This option is near the top of the page.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Select from people" or "Add number". If you want to select a contact to block, tap Select form people, if you want to enter a number to block, tap Add number.
- Tap the checkbox next to a contact or enter a number. If you are blocking a contact, tap the checkbox next to the contact you want to block. If you selected "Add number", enter the number that you want to block.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Save". Doing so will add the number to your phone's block list. You should no longer receive calls from the blocked number.
- Tap the Settings app that resembles a black bit larger than the norm gear. It's either on your home screen or the list of apps that appears when you swipe from the right edge.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Call+SMS Filter". It's below the System header.
- The first time you use this app, you are asked to accept the terms and conditions. Tap Accept if you are prompted.
- Tap the toggle switch. This turns on call blocking. You now have the ability to block calls.
- Open the phone app. It's the app that has an icon that resembles a phone. It's on your home screen.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Call History". It's in the Phone app. This display a list of recent calls.
- Tap and hold the number you want to block. This displays a menu over the number.
- Tap grayish rectangle button look, with the words "Block Number". This displays a confirmation pop-up window.
- Tap grayish square button look, with the words "Ok". This blocks the number from contacting you.
- You can only block numbers not saved to your address book.
Blocking with VoIP or landline
- *78 Turns on the do not disturb feature.
- When activated, all calls are routed to voicemail, and the local telephone does not ring.
